Project Overview: Rapid Response Secured the Order

In order to meet the growing demand for energy-efficient, durable, and precisely controlled mushroom cultivation systems, Gondor Machinery delivered a fully customized mushroom growing container for a Canadian client. And the client reached out to us on January 25th, 2025, after finding our website through a Google search using the term “hydroponic mushroom cultivation.” Following this, over the following month and a half, we engaged in detailed communication to define the technical specifications.

What’s more, the order was confirmed on March 1st, the production was completed in April, and the system was shipped on May 16. The final product was a mushroom growing container based on a 40-foot shipping container. It included an integrated hydroponic fodder system and a separate operating room, which creats a functional and efficient cultivation space that supports both production and day-to-day operation.

Client Background and Procurement Objectives

As a Canadian equipment distributor specializing in the mushroom cultivation industry, he has long provided professional equipment to local farms and container-based growing facilities. The main goals of this procurement were as follows:

  • To supply a hydroponic fodder system for mushroom container farming, which serves as a partial replacement for traditional substrate and improving mushroom yield;
  • To meet the integrated design requirements of container cultivation, including a separate operating area and functional zoning within the container;
  • To ensure durability, hygiene, and safety by using stainless steel materials throughout the structure;
  • To configure the system for standard 240V, 60Hz, three-phase power, with a built-in transformer to support local electrical standards;
  • To deliver a fully integrated system where the equipment and container are structurally unified, and this allows the client to deliver it directly to their end users for immediate use;

Core Requirements: Focus on Performance, Structure, Power, & Safety

For this mushroom cultivation project, the client provided clear specifications regarding structural design, electrical configuration, and material standards. The key technical requirements are summarized as follows:

Container Structure

The system must be based on a standard 40-foot container, with internal tiered space designed to support mushroom-growing rack systems.

Power Requirements

The entire unit must operate at 240V, 60Hz, three-phase power input, and a compatible transformer must be provided to match local power supply conditions.

Rack Dimension

The rack dimensions and specifications should follow factory-standard blueprints, with local adjustments made based on the client’s specific growing needs.

Component List

The full system configuration must strictly follow the component list previously confirmed with the client (as provided in the attachment).

Stainless Steel

Both the container body and internal support racks must be made entirely of 304 stainless steel to ensure corrosion resistance, easy cleaning, and food-grade safety.

Functional Layout

The container layout must include a separate operating room, with internal zones planned according to the client’s workflow and spatial requirements to enhance on-site usability.

Drawing Approval

Complete technical drawings must be submitted for client approval before production begins to ensure transparency and control throughout the delivery process.

Gondor’s Solution: Custom-Built with Strict Standards

In response to the client’s complex and highly detailed requirements, we followed a customer-oriented approach to develop a reliable and efficient solution specifically tailored for container-based mushroom cultivation. The overall system was designed around four key principles: stable output, rational structure, user-friendly operation, and dependable safety. Our customized solution includes the following highlights:

Standard ContainerFunctional ZoningStainless SteelPower CompatibilityRack OptimizationSmart Control ReadyDrawing Confirmation
The system is built around a standard 40-foot shipping container, which ensures ease of transportation and plug-and-play deployment at the client’s site.
The internal layout is precisely planned, and it separates the growing area from the operating space to improve production flow and management efficiency.
The entire structure is constructed from 304 stainless steel, and this materials can provide resistance to corrosion, mold, and bacteria, which makes it ideal for high-humidity environments.
All electrical components are configured for 240V, 60Hz, three-phase power and come with an export-ready transformer for compatibility with local infrastructure.
Rack spacing and tray levels are optimized based on the client’s expected mushroom output, which uses proven design standards to reduce trial and error.
The control system includes reserved interfaces for future upgrades, which allows for potential integration with remote monitoring and data tracking.
Before production begins, a complete set of technical drawings is provided for client confirmation, including container structure, rack layout, and electrical wiring diagrams, which ensures full transparency and control.

Why the Client Chose Gondor Machinery?

The successful completion of this order was largely due to our ability to respond quickly to every client request, backed by a team of professional engineers who provided clear explanations and practical alternatives. The client appreciated our thorough approach, including the complete configuration list, detailed technical drawings, installation guidance, and transparent quotation process. Here are the key factors that led to the deal:

  • Fast responses to customization questions related to voltage, layout, and structural design;
  • Flexible configuration plans with multiple brand options tailored to the client’s budget;
  • Clear documentation, including contract, layout drawings, and delivery schedule, that built client trust;
  • Full support for resale documentation such as technical manuals, operation videos, and labeled drawings;
  • Comprehensive factory testing and export packaging optimized for container transport, minimizing downstream coordination issues for the client;

Key Factors Affecting the Mushroom Growing Container Price

For our global customers, it is essential to understand the pricing structure and cost components of hydroponic mushroom farming equipment which can help them control their budget and improve overall project manageability. Below are the primary factors that influence the overall pricing of such systems:

Production Capacity

The daily output level (e.g., 500kg, 1000kg, 2000kg) directly affects the size of motors, the number of trays, and the complexity of the control system.

Component Brands

Choosing international brands such as Schneider or ABB instead of local alternatives can significantly increase the cost due to brand premiums.

Control System Type

Prices vary greatly depending on the level of automation, such as basic controls, PLC systems, touchscreen interfaces, or remote monitoring capabilities.

Stainless Steel Materials

The grade, thickness, and total quantity of stainless steel used will directly impact the structural cost of the system.

Optional Functional Modules

Additional features such as UV sterilization units, water filtration systems, and ventilation modules will add to the total cost.

Design & Engineering Support

Requests for customized technical drawings and design validation may require additional engineering time and cost.

Structural Integration

Whether the offer includes the full container structure with internal racks, transformers, and wiring accessories will influence the base price.

Packaging and Shipping

The use of reinforced wooden crates, full-container loading, and international transport logistics also contribute to the final pricing.
